(5*5)+(12*12)=c^2

25+144=c^2

169=c^2

so just find the square root of 169 on your calculator. It should be 13.

Remember this only works if it is a right triangle.

8 squared + 15 squared= 17 squared
6 squared + 9 squared=??
7 squared + 10 squared=??

a 2 +b 2 = c 2
find both legs. square them, then add the results. find the square root of that number. it is your hypotenuse. good luck

"a" squared plus "b" squared = "c" squared. "c" must always be the hypotenuse, just put the other numbers into the equation and solve for whichever one you are missing.

3 sides right.... if you know the 2 that make up the right angle(lets call them A and B)
square root of(A*A+B*B)=third side
if
you know one side of the right angle (B) and the other side (C) than
square root of(C*C-B*B)=last side (A)
