Not sure, but since crude oil is a component in asphalt, the price of the materials (and equipment used) should rise or fall with the change in gas prices.

oil prices do indeed factor in, however, the other main factor is the area you live in. I work in the concrete construction supply biz in the Midwest and have worked in it back in PA. . I was shocked by the prices of concrete & paving here in Kansas. Most products here are cheaper here in Kansas, than in Pennsylvania.
