I thought some of the action scenes were pretty cool. The movie certainly had its moments, but it just seemed to peter out in the end. I got bored and annoyed. Plus the acting was bad. I have seen Natalie Portman (Queen Amidala) and Hayden C. (Anakin/Darth) act in other movies (Closer, V for Vendetta, Shattered Glass)and they did really well, but not in Episode 3. Opinions, anyone?

I agree with you. At first I thought the acting was bad, but then I realized --what else can they do with the dialogue they were given? The love scenes in particular were embarassingly awkward. ...even the scene with Hayden Christensen screaming "I hate you!!!!!" to Ewen McGregor. What? Where did that come from? They just had a GREAT action scene and now they have to show Darth Vader throwing a hissy fit?

The action scenes were great, but they were separated by long scenes of explanations which were hard to follow and frankly, boring. I was actually glad when Mace Windu bit it, it meant no more listening to him go on and on.....my brain was aching! (I love Lawrence Fishburne, btw)

And yeah, the ending was really rushed. It's like hours of explaining made-up civics and then, oops...gotta show Leia and Luke being divvied up to the families that we already know they end up with.

Absolutely not anything within the Phantom Menace makes any feel in any respect. The characters, the tale, the motivations, the discussion, non of it makes any coherant feel and springs throughout find it irresistible used to be written by way of the brain of a little one (Note I mentioned brain of a little one, no longer the center of a little one). The camerawork and path is static, 2 dimensional and sloppy, the script is horrible, the performing is wood and stupid. The positives of the movie: The John Williams rating used to be his ordinary top average, the CGI of Coruscant, Watto and the Gungan town had been beautiful good performed, the sound results for essentially the most aspect had been beautiful good performed, the pod racing series total used to be beautiful good positioned in combination and the duel on the finish used to be good choreographed and a well specticle. Other than that, this movie is solely horrible, and it isn't simply on account that of Jar Jar (Though he did convey an already sketchy movie to a reduce stage), it isn't simply the midiclorians (Which makes me irritated), it is the total tale beginning off with an invasion over a few tax dispute, with the Trade Federation going at the side of Sidious for explanations which we are not ever advised approximately in which they look to be getting not anything out of it, and the relaxation of the movie and the characters all move downhill of their whole incoherance from there.

I have seen all 6 movies and episode 3 links everything together
if you watched return of the jedi on dvd they changed darth vader character to link it all together. I think you were looking for more action and but if you followed the movies all 6 they are alll linked together

It could have been so much better, but Lucas just aimed to make a darker, edgier conclusion to the prequel trilogy.
Also, I think it might have been better had Lucas used more of John Williams new music, instead of just cutting and pasting Williams' music from other Star Wars films (notice when Yoda and Palpatine battle, you hear music reused from 'Empire Strikes Back').

It suffered the same problem the other 2 prequels did. George Lucas. If he had just came up with the story & charactors and let someone else write and direct, it could have been so much better. the acting and dialogue would have improved.
