They have been married three years and my friend wants a baby soo bad. She would be such a good mother and they both could afford it. He is being very unreasonable about it and selfish, in my humble opinion and I just feel so bad for her. Any suggestions as to what she could say to him or how she could persuade him. They don't use birth control, except the "withdrawl" method, I don't know how much of a chance there is of getting pregnant thru that.

Well, How many other things are they not in agreement on? She may be a good mom, but what kinda dad will he be? Do you think your friend will be married for the rest of her life to this guy? I only ask, because I was there 20 years ago. Anyways, if he is a good husband to her, then she just needs to have a heart to heart talk with him about this. He needs to hear her and how important this is. But, she needs to hear him and find out why and how seriously he doesn't want children.

Having a baby is a bigger step for a man than a woman because the female usually gets custody in the event of a divorce, effectively forcing the male to be her slave, baby sitting when she wants to go out and paying her to take his children from him. A man, more than a woman, has to feel that there is no chance for a divorce before he will feel comfortable having kids. Your friend's husband obviously doesn't feel that way.

Your friend can go in one of two directions: she can either physically force the issue by remaining on top of him when he comes on one of her ovulation days, or she can humble herself and enable him to be more comfortable in the relationship.

well no one should try to convince about that. it would be so bad for her if she finally did convince him and than once she has the baby, he leaves. than what? do push the situation at all they will just be unhappy with eachother.

They really need to both be in agreement for this to be a good thing.
