I am a finance major but have accounting in my background and it is a tough tedious bland subject. You either love it or hate it. It is pretty challenging but the job market for accountants is really good right now with starting pay for accountants around $50,000 a year (pending where you live). You also have to pass an exam to become a certified CPA once you graduate. Usually employers will help train you for this as they have recruited or highered you out of college.

I graduated with a Bach. of Science in Accounting in the late 1980s. It wasn't rocket science, but it wasn't a walk in the park either. I went on to another profession, but I did hear that the CPA exam was tough.
