does it hurt the baby?

No it won't hurt the baby at all. Once a woman is pregnant, her body starts creating protective barriers (i.e. mucus plug in the cervix) to keep out anything foreign from reaching the fetus and causing possible harm. The mucus plug is like a cork on the cervix, nothing can get inside the cervix, not even semen. So having sex while pregnant is definitely safe and will not harm the baby at all.

No it won't hurt the baby. It's nice and protected by amniotic fluid and your mucous plug that closes up the cervix. The only time it wouldn't be ok is if your doctor tells you not to, if there are complications, or previous problems with other pregnancies. Other then that, it should be fine. If you are worried about it, talk to your doctor. They will tell you what they want you to do and give you guidelines to best suit you. Sex during pregnancy is a good thing. It help make you feel better about your self and about your changing body. Some positions may not work during pregnancy, so do what feels good to you and don't push it too hard. Sex also releases hormones that improve your mood, and that can really help during pregnancy. You may want to read "what to expect when your expecting". It will help you understand everything that is going on with your body and will help answer other questions you might have.

it does not hurt the baby. Unless your health care provider advises you otherwise, sex during pregnancy is safe for you and the baby. The baby is protected by the amniotic fluid in the womb and by your abdomen.

Some women with high-risk pregnancies are advised to avoid intercourse during pregnancy. Your health care provider will tell you if you have a high-risk pregnancy.

Sex can actually be good for you. It can prevent premature labor, and as long as you're not at high risk for premautre labor in the first place (ask your doctor) it can be better! After your fourth month, missionary position will not feel good on your back. Some babies can be soothed by the rocking too.

It's actually a good thing to do especially toward the end. It softens the cervix. So go as long as you can, until it's uncomfy for you.
