Why does the FDA make us fat and then sell us drugs?

Maybe not exactly, but it seems like the FDA does nothing to regulate the absolute CRAP that the fast food companies sell us, but they are on top of the drugs side of the organization. In my opinion, the FDA wants us to get fat and sick so they can develop and sell drugs to keep us alive. Your opinion is welcome.
