A parabola opening down with a max at the point 0,-2. it will also be twice as wide as a standard parabola

y = (-1/2)x^2 - 2

Its an upside down parabola, who's vertex is (0,-2)

follow the rules like this
y=x^2
is an upward parabola
multiply by half to pull down its arms
multiply by -ve sign to get mirror image abt x-axis
subtract 2 to shift it downwards by 2
