It's not really a good idea to move kids when they are studying. Different schools have different exam boards: AQA, for example. You'll need to ring the school which you plan to move to and explain the situation. By rights, they can call the exam board and get them to agree for her to sit her exams at their school. However, if it's a different syllabus then it'll mean sitting the gcses in a separate room . Also the revision and coursework may cause some problems if the subjects are different. Best ring and see.

You can do if you have to but it would be better not to, really. Not only might your daughter have to cope with different syllabuses but she will, at the same time, be having to get used to a new school, new teachers and new friends.

She's well old enough to have views on the subject and to be able to make an input into the decision. You could hardly give her a greater compliment by including her in the discussion and the decision (perhaps you already do, in which case, bully for you!)

If your daughter is in year 10 then she is actually more than half way through her GCSE courses as they will finish before May 2007. So you need to ask if the reason to move is more important than the reason to stay (her education). If you decide to move then it is often possible to transfer any completed coursework with her.
How about finding a new school with a sixth form? They will allow her to continue her studies into year 12 and take GCSEs a year later if necessary, possibly with some higher courses mixed in.

Theoretically, yes, but you would need to make sure the school you move her to uses the same exam boards for ALL her subjects or else she may have extra work. If you aren't planning to move too far away, she could stay at the same school.

Yes, but it would mean a lot of change (and possibly extra coursework- if, for example, she moves to a school where they do a different Shakespeare piece she'll have to re-do it, or if they've covered creative writing but she didn't at her school she'll have to do it - as school cover the syllabus in different orders). I wouldn't recommend it, as it isn't just the work but the emotional change too.
