I'm going to make this short, I broke up with my boyfriend, it was his fault, and now he wants me to go back to him or he might hurt himself, he says. I don't know what to do. I can't go back with him simply because he has these thoughts but I don't want to see anything bad happen to him. Remember, the break up wasn't my fault, and it's not something that I can just forget and go back to him about. He made all my feelings for him leave. So what should I do. I don't want him to take away his own life.

Do not get back together with him!!! Guys that do this (and girls too) are not reacting to the loss of the relationship but something larger and older in their psychological makeup. If you placate him in any way, it will just extend his dependence on you emotionally.

He's either going to do it or not. There's really nothing you can do but look after yourself.

The guy is probably full of it. People feel like they want to die and they'll never find another as long as they live. You need to stand your ground and tell him to get help (suicide hot line ). The guy is just feeling sorry for himself because he knows he royally screwed up and is try to manipulate you. He sounds like a loser to me and you are better off without him.

It's not your problem. The most I would do is call the local county mental health agency and give the details of your ex and the be done with it.

if he is threatening to hurt himself then call the police to get help for him, he has become a danger to himself and possibly anyone else

If it is not your fault (I'm thinking it is his), just ignore.
Belive me, nothing will happen to him nor he will attempt any such thing (being a guy you can trust me).
