Yes. What did you say the first and second time? Did you already tell him he'd be out? You have to stick by what you said.

Is he still in school or has he graduated? Either way, your house, your rules.

If you're reluctant to do that, you can take the bedroom door off its hinges so he has no privacy. You can take everything out of his room except his bed. You can start demanding rent $$ since if he has enough money for pot, he has enough money for rent. Is he working? He should have a job.

Either way, you can tell him if you catch him again, he's out. No warning, nothing. Just out. Out that minute.

You may be able to put him in rehab. You might want to check that out.

Last thing you want is the cops come and arrest you as well. Who knows how much he has stashed. I'd go through his room, find his stash, and flush it. It's your house. You're the one paying the rent/mortgage, not him. You have the right to go through every aspect of your place. Tell him if you find it or smell it or catch him with it again, he's out.

You could also turn him in to the cops for some real tough love, but that's a bit hardcore. I'd just give him this last warning and then he's out. Just be willing to go through with it, because it will happen. You're going to end up throwing him out.

You gain nothing by kicking him out. Hopefully his drug habit has not gone past pot. It is not the end of the world because he smokes pot. Perhaps you should ask why he feels the need to use it?? Talking with him and getting his reasons may give you a better understanding of his life. Drug pushers love it when young people feel helpless. They can get them on harder stuff and move them into the pipeline. As a parent you need to help him do the right thing by constructive criticism where needed and mostly understanding of what is motivating him to do drugs.

Will kicking him out solve the problem? Probably he will turn to his friends that do that after you kick him out. You should talk to him! Not those i'm the parent your the kid but in a casual setting ask about his life and what he is doing and why he feels like he needs to be doing this. Hope it helps. I'm 19 to and honestly i know a lot of kids that do that and a lot worse.

If he is bringing pot home and smoking at home i'm sure he won't stop smoking! But don't kick him out that would be worse for him. Talk to him and tell him you know he is going to continue smoking but if you catch it in the house again he is gone. Unless you already told him and gave him another chance then kick him out you have to stick with what you say.

You need to take him to a rehab center. If not that, then go to family counseling. Have you tried talking to him? Find out what problems he might have that would drive him to do drugs or any kind? And is that the only thing he's doing? Try to talk to him before you jump the gun and send him off. That just may make things worse.

Kick him out so he can go do more drugs whenever he wants? Nah, put his butt in a drug treatment program. This way he can get help, you will have the feeling that you are helping him, and if he choses not to follow the program when he gets out you can at least have the feeling that you tried to help him and if he is unwilling to stop this behavior then you can kick him out without the guilt.

no, it is pot. Yes it's a gateway drug but do you trust your son, he's your son and he's always going to be your son, so if you're worried go to a counseling center, or a rehab. Don't kick him out because then he won't ever be able to come to you.

Definitely yes....I caught my son also and never done anything but try to help him stop but in the end he started using heavier drugs. My home has been raided 4 times because of him, he has robbed me countless times (hocked everything) because of his habit. Went to police for help and got no-where but eventually he smashed up my house and the police (NOT ME) put a restraining order out on him but he still breaks in and steals from me to pay for his drugs...GET help now before it is to late
