What if i want to cancel my landline and go cellular only but I'd still like DSL service over cable modem. Do most DSL service work even without a landline subscribtion or is it compulsory?

DSL Connections do need a landline connection for it to work !!

U may remove your telephone instrument if you want, but the line must be active and functional.

DSL comes through the existing analog lines. You must have a regular phone number associated with that line in order for it to be activated. I would reccomend that you contact your cable TV compnay for cable modem service, or call DrecTV to get TV and Internet service through the satellite.

I have heard you can get it through your cell phone but then you are getting charged for those minutes. The dsl's I have had were always through the land line. I now have cable Internet service which I love.

You can have DSL or cable service without a land-line. I have DirecTV, cable access (different than DSL) and a cell phone for my only telephone service.

Do you have cable TV? If so, I would go with High Speed Internet through cable as it is faster and more reliable than DSL.

I've had both, have DSL now and I wish I had cable again.

I think you can. But why don't you contact the DSL company and find out? They can tell you the detail, the cost, if it's doable, they might even offer you some good deal right now.
