It all depends up on the format you want to store songs in... say in mp3 (160kpbs) format you'll be able to store about 5000 songs where typical length of song is about 5 mins.

Actually depends on how long the songs are. My husband had a 20 GB ipod and he got up to a little over 5000, though it says it only holds 5000 songs.

Actually it's depends on how big are your songs files.
If we assume in general, 1 song is 4 Mb, it can contain up to 5000 songs.

240 song to 1 gig 20 times 240 = 4800....songs you will get in your 20 gb mp3 player.

my ipod has 1200 songs on 5 gigs....so....20 gigs = 4800 to 5000 songs.
Abfab, you must have videos on yours. No way you only have 2000 songs on 15 gigs....unless they are Yes or Pink Floyd songs...lol

20 GB = 1024 x 20 MB.
So if the size of song is 1 MB then you can put 20480 songs.
