It's a runing light and is supposed to stay on while the bike is on. If you remove the fuse for the headlight it'll go off but you won't be able to turn it back on till you replace the fuse. You could also try unplugging it from the back. I don't know how easy it is to get back there on your bike. Anyway, if it were me I'd keep the light on. In fact I'd ride with the high beams on during the day. It's easier for the other morons to see you.

You can definitely turn the headlights off. Find you fuse box and remove the fuse that is for the headlights. Most fuse boxes are under the seat or in the front of the bike within the headlight/fairing assembly. Your owners manual should state where it is located.

The appropriate fuse should be easily identifiable (typically says "lights") and are usually 15 amp fuses. Trial and error is the easiest way to verify which ones do what. You may need a set of needlenose pliers to remove the fuse easily.

That is an easy fix. Turn the key all the way to off. You can actually pull the key out with the electricity still on. I ran out a battery on my bike once by not paying better attention. If you mean turn the headlight off while you are riding, you can't. It is a safety feature to increase your visibility. Not so you can see more, but so others can see you. Be grateful, it could save your life.
Keep the shiny side up my man!

Like FangStu said. Most new bikes have the headlight come on for safety reasons when the key is turned on and goes off when the key is turned off. If this isn't happening, you have a bigger problem than your light being on.
If you mess with the light, you won't have it when you do need it.
