my email use to tell when i had email, now it doesn't. help me to get the little sign to come back up. it also use to make a little noise when i got email. help!

What are you using to read your mail? There's a ton of different ways to read email and each one has a different way to turn notification on and off. If you repost your question and include this info, you'll have your answer pretty quickly, I'd bet!

I agree with ms. dcgirl.
If you happen to be using Microsoft XP and Outlook and have enabled individual user profiles, Outlook integrates with the operating system and will display something like "2 new messages" when you log in.
If you use Yahoo, the Yahoo toolbar (downloaded from Yahoo) it will display an icon on the toolbar to indicate you have new mail. Or Yahoo messenger utility will display a message (called a toast because it pops up like a piece of toast) when you are logged in.
If you use Google mail, Gool has a notifier.
If your mail is managed through some particular hosting service other than a major one, they usually offer some little utiilty you can download and have running that will alert you.
Microsoft Messenger (for Hotmail) accounts is like Yahoo messenger.
