i think a cross dresser just likes to wear woman's clothes but doesn't really want to be a woman, but a traney dresses as a woman all the time and wants a sex change.

A cross dresser is a transvestite. A transvestite is a person who makes a habit of dressing up and impersonating the opposite sex. A transvestite is not a transexual(someone who is surgically changing or has changed their sex) and in most cases is heterosexual.
