poop is actually fat that were not digested... the reason why it's colored brown is because blood actually has something to do with it. your blood circulates all over your body. blood that has iron is called "hemoglobin", and when the body takes out that iron and utilizes it, blood without iron is called "heme". heme then circulates in your liver and is filtrated, it becomes "bilirubin" then it is divided into "urobilin" or "stercobilin". "urobilin" is the yellow color that you see in your pee, and "stercobilin" gives the brown color in your poop. some people who have a condition called "obstructive jaundice", their liver would not release these "stercobilin" therefore their poop is colored white (like fat). isn't that gross?
the reason for the odor in the poop is just a mixture of fat that you are about to expel is no longer "fresh" of course because it's been sitting in your body for days, and also bacteria gives off the odor. can you believe that pee is actually 90% (or more) sterile? it's nearly as potable as you want it to be. but of course, who would drink that?
