Burt's Bees!!! It's the best - I love all their baby products and if they weren't so expensive I'd buy them all the time. One of my twins once had diaper rash so bad she BLEED. I took her to the doctor, he gave me a prescription. Used it, didn't work. Got Burt's Bees and it went away right away. It's awesome!
The doctor said as well let them be without a diaper as much as possible. Messy, but way better than any cream.

First, stop using regular wipes. Use a very mild (baby) soap and lukewarm water. Pat dry. Leave diapers off for as long as possible, and when u have to, put on either a powder or a thick cream like desitin. Don't use the greassless kind, use the really thick stuff. My cousin's mom actually got rid of her granddaughters incurable rash with Crisco! I wouldn't suggest it but you get the point. Also, my daughter used to get a rash every time she ate or drank citrus or acidic foods, even though she's not allergic. Good luck!

How long has he had the rash? If it been more that a few days take him to the doctor. If not Desitin is the best in my opinion. And use lots of diapers and keep him dry. Also try going with/out a diaper for a while to let his butt dry off. Watch the little water fountain carefully.

I use Johnsons no more rash, or Balmex They both work great also change diaper about every 2 to 3 hours and wash the area with a wet wash cloth dont use wipes they will irritate it more and also leave the diaper off for a while the air to it will help out tremendesly

When my daughter was a baby we figured out she would get a rash on her butt when she ate certain foods. She was allergic to berry flavored things, or certain red colored things. The first time she got it was when my mother-in-law gave her red jello, then the next time was when we gave her some cranberry applesauce babyfood. The next time was with pink applesauce. Think about whether there is anything in his diet that my be causing this. We used Balmex, it worked the best and it was thick and stayed on. You can also get your pediatrician to give you some pure zinc oxide, that also worked really well for our daughter.

Too true about the Lotrimin. I always have a generic tube of it next to the Desitin, in case the rash turns out to be yeast. It works in a matter of hours.

ok this is going to be wierd but if the rash is a yeast rash the best thing is lotramin cream...yep the stuff you put on your feet for athletes foot...my two year old has struggled with this for most of her little life and a nurse practioner told us that the lotramin will work and it did. as for prevention which is the best thing change him often and use vasoline that coats and protects the skin and keeps it from being irritated...

When my son was an infant a doctor told me to make a paste with baking soda/water put it on his butt. It worked! Also put alittle baking soda in his bath water helps. But I would call the doctor, one lady told me she had to take her baby to a dermatologst, it turned out he had a fungus. Try the baking soda thing it worked wonders for my son. Good Luck!!
