We have the technology to send a man/women into space. We can find were a cow that was infected with mad cow disease came from? We can listen into peoples discussions over the phones. We have satelites that have powerful cameras. We have G.P.S. How hard can it be to find one man in the desert?

Here's some points to ponder:

1) The FBI is not able to find the 10 Most Wanted. The FBI knows the terrain, is completely local, has all the necessary resources, and still the job is extremely difficult. If someone wants to disappear, it's not that hard.

2) Bin Laden is hiding in one of the most heavily mountained areas on earth. Normal surveillance techniques do not work. It's like trying to use radar in a maze.

3) Bin Laden has given orders to his protectors to kill him if an attempt is made to capture him. Perhaps we know exactly where he is, but are waiting for that one, elusive opportunity to get him alive, so we can gain information from him.

Because you don't want to find him.

Finding Osama bin-Laden is the last thing the Bush administration wants or needs. As long as he is "out there", he can be used as excuse for any kind of operation at home and abroad, no matter how illegal, immoral or outright criminal it might be.

There is an old friendship and business relationship between the Bush family and the Laden clan. This never ceased, despite the accusations heaped on Osama, who was selected and trained by the CIA to front an Islamic resistance movement against the Russians in Afghanistan.

The CIA created, trained and financed Al-Qaeda, and there is no positive evidence that they actually ever lost control over them.

In my opinion Osama bin-Laden is still what he was for years: a CIA agent doing black operations, which can then be used by the Bush administration as excuses for more military action and the restrictions of citizens' rights.

Cause Osama Bin Laden thinks that he is too powerful to get caught and that George Bush is friends with the Bin Laden family.

The difference between finding Zarqawi and Osama is this: Osama is running around where ever he is. The problem is that he is (most likely) staying in places that are remote. Meaning he is literally out in the middle of nowhere and no one knows where he is. Since no one knows and no one is around him (except his aids), there really is no one who can give us tips about where he was last spotted. Also, technology is not fool-proof. You can get around technology if you know what you are doing. That is why they keep improving existing technology (well, one of the reasons).

The same reason it took over 5 years to find Eric Rudoulph in the North Carolina woods.Perhaps, we can get Osama to wear a GPS circuit.

I wish I knew the answer. He is certainly intelligent. He is not just, compassionate or humane, but he is intelligent. For those of you who think that President Bush doesn't WANT to find him....are you kidding???!!!!!!!! Of course he does. That's like saying, nobody is REALLY trying to find a cure for cancer. If Pres. Bush were to find that "thing" on his watch, he'd be over- joyed!!!! At the VERY least, it would be a feather in his cap. Please try not to think with your political party hat on. Put on your thinking cap and really think logiacally. Ain't it great that we can all have our very own opinion. I'm enjoying reading all of the comments.

Yes we have many things that help us, but it is very easy to hide from it all. We do not have a all seeing eye that can find the lone man that does not want to be found.

He is probably in a safe house, guarded by loyal followers who would die before betraying him.

The satellite has not yet been invented that can see through walls or a roof.
