Underclassman (freshmen & sophomore) classes usually have rules for attendence similar to what you experienced in highschool. As you move into classes in your major area, the professors tend to not care if you attend class, only in the assignments. Caution, some professors will concider an assignment late if it is not turned in at the BEGINNING of class.

However, entering the class late is considered rude and disruptive to the class. Many professors will penalize you for coming in late.

It depends on the college and the atmosphere. I had college profs who couldn't care less if we ever came to lectures, as long as we did the work and passed the tests, we could pass the class. However, I've had many more that prefer that you are not only in class, but that you are on time.
