The Address Bar in IE is meant for acutal url's (i.e. yahoo.com), it is not meant to be used as a search bar for keywords.

The search from the address bar is sort of a deep tweak for Internet Explorer. From the Microsoft website, you can download a tool called TWEAK UI. When you have installed the utility you will find a tree of options. One of them is Internet Explorer->Search.
Follow the directions at the top of the text box to insert the search engine url that you would like to use.

I have the google toolbar, and it works with that. Click on the arrow, next to the search box, Then go to options, click on browsing, make sure there is a checkmark, in the first box, that says (address bar, browse by name) and it will browse by name you enter into the address bar..In the latest version, click on the G, click-manage-click on the more tab-put a checkmark, next to (enable browse by name, in the address bar)-that will let you search from the adress bar..good luck..

It is not a search bar, it is an address box.. if you want that you need to load google to your IE tool bar..then you can search as well as add addresses.. Yahoo may have a similar program available.

Yes, remove the bing toolbar under tools, manage add ons, enable or disable addons. Also under tools, internet options, general, click the settings button by 'change search defaults' and switch to Google.
