I think the more interesting link is the link between conservative funding of education and social programs vs. those who vote conservative in the US...

What I'm saying is... the south has the largest amount of poverty in the nation and has many states near the bottom in education... yet the states vote for Republicans, who don't support social programs to help those in poverty and the republicans don't support education programs, loans or grants...

I guess they are happy at the bottom?

Yes, this is a true triumph of republican strategists, especially Karl Rove. In the last few elections, they have managed to convince a majority of americans to vote against their own interests.
If you're one of the few super wealthy ($100m+ in assets) you should vote republican. If you're a struggling middle class american, you a dang fool for voting republican.
