I still believe anything is possible, but it really depends on the two people involved. I had an aunt and uncle that were married for more than 75 years, my mother and father were married for 40 years (they are both deceased now), and I have an aunt and uncle that have been married almost 30 years now. There is a lot of work involved in making a marriage work until "death do us part".

I believe marriage was originally created as a "property" arrangement. Women were considered property, as well as their dowery. Then, marriage morphed into a religious right between a man and a woman.

I don't believe that a monogamous marriage between a man and a woman for an entire lifetime is natural or normal. Just look at the divorce statistics.

Divorcees and cheaters are not good spouses. Shame on you for not being faithful. You have shown that you cannot keep your word and have developed a pattern for failure. Marriage is for life, otherwise do not marry, comprende?

I don't think alot of marriages are forever. However, I think they should be unless there is abuse involved.

It is supposed to but somethings things happen such as abuse, neglect, etc. and then it becomes unhealthy for the victim.
