It's been a while since I analyzed that. I'll just have to go off the cuff here. Darkness seems to be a common setting for the Capulet party at night, the sneaking around between major scenes, going to see the Friar, inside the family tombs, etc. Darkness itself does not necessarily mean evil in this play, but more of the fact that due to miscommunication and violent grudges, people keep acting while being left mentally "in the dark" as to what other options would be available. Darkness may also serve as a sort of foreshadowing of a sad and dark ending to this tragedy.
