Most credible experts will tell you NO. When you are pregnant, it is important that you not be dieting - your baby needs those extra nutrients. If you are signifigantly overweight, 30 pounds or more, you may want to try to limit the amount of weight you gain while pregnant. The usual "recommended" amount of weight gain during pregnancy is about 25-35 pounds. If you are signifigantly overweight, some experts suggest a healthier weight gain while pregnant is around 12-15 pounds. When pg, you need to consume about an extra 300 - 400 calories a day minimum.
Of course, there is a lot of debate over how much control you have over how much weight you gain while pregnant. Some women eat randomly and don't exercise and don't gain much at all. Others follow the best health guidelines and gain much more. And many woman can gain signifigantly more, sometimes less and still have healthy babies. But you should NEVER be striving to LOOSE weight while pregnant. Weight gain is going to happen, its part of pregnancy. You just want to be as healthy as possible for your baby.

As long as you are getting the nutrients your body needs, it shouldn't be a problem. Take a prenatal vitamin to be safe.
