I would ask the potential candidate how s/he planned on teaching the children classroom management skills, how she planned on implementing centers and what experience s/he has with guided reading.

Good Luck,

How do you react when you have a headache and the students have just eaten a bunch of sugar from a Halloween or Valentine's Day party and are about three times as energetic as usual? Or what if there is a run of tattling that is going on? How would you handle that? (That might apply more to first or second grade teachers, I guess).

Ask a common scenario that you have had trouble with in the past, such as "if a child was acting out by hitting another child, what would your reaction be?"
