Moles=moles/Liter. Moles-solution + some substance,=amount of substance(which contain 12g of Carbon)/a Liter amount of aqueous solution(not always water).

Avagadro's #- the amount of something(precisely 6.02*10^22) which contains exactly 12g of C in it.

I don't think I ever have to know that stuff again, but it's in my head for now.

The Boston Molasses Disaster occurred on January 15, 1919, in Boston, Massachusetts. A large molasses tank burst and a wave of molasses ran through the streets at an estimated 35 MPH, killing twenty-one and injuring 150 others.

There is no piece of useless education. Your piece of info can be looked at in several different ways:

--when placed with other info and applied to life, it is very useful.
--you used it to ask a question, which has uses in itself.
--it gives credit to the teacher(s) who taught it to you that you do remember it.

I don't remember any useless piece of education, since it has all been useful in some form or fashion.

My 7th grade class had a note taking project in english class where our teacher rattled off notes about whales and we learned the correct outline format with roman numerals and the whole nine yards. Not only to I still adhere strictly to that format when writing proposals that require it, but I also know know that at least 50% of the ocean is whale spit.

I remember reading once that scientists did a study of flies, and found out the reason they die on window sills is they have heart attacks from the frustration of trying to get out of the window.

How they studied it, I have no idea. But I remember thinking how useless the info was.

Pythagorean Theorem:
a (2) + b (2) = c (2)
The square of the hypoteneuse of a right triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides.

Sometimes I have used this theorem in everyday life, but I never bother to do all the calculations, I just guesstimate to see if it makes sense.

The French word for groundhog is "herisson" or "marmotte". (Long story....... LOL!) I never need to know this, but it's stuck in there anyway.

The Roman or Greek Army. I dont remember which. Used to fashion sadles with fake penis's on them. And when they would fight and capture prisoners of war in another territory, they would sit these men atop the phallic sadles until they reached where they needed to go and by that time they would be lose and ready for penetration. Saw it on TLC or Discovery. No lie.
