A screen name is how you choose to identify yourself at a site. For example, mine is zen.

An email address may incorporate your screen name, or it may not. For example, my email address is zenzazen118@yahoo.com. Some people will use part of their email address as their screen name: catsanddogs@yahoo.com (email address) may choose the username catsanddogs. Or, they could choose a completely different screen name: catanddoglover, or something. It's up to you.

A screen name is simply a nickname. An email address is used to send and receive email.

an e-mail address is a name plus @yahoo.com or @aol.com etc. etc. you can leave short messages, exchange information with co-workers etc.

a screen name is an id normally used on aol instant messanger but it could also be used on yahoo messanger or msn messanger.

a screen name with aol is also immediate. if we are both online at the same time we can have a conversation almost as if we were on the phone

with e-mail the person could get the message right away or possibly days, weeks or months later depending on how often they check their messages

hope that that helped!

It would depend on the application.

However, an email address is an alias for electronic mailbox for the purpose of sending and receiving email.

A 'screen name' was originally a login/account name on AOL, which also doubled as your AOL email. However, some people consider their IM account names as 'screen names' as well.

A screen name is commonly related to Instant Messaging services, such as AOL Instant Messanger, MSN Messenger, and Yahoo Messenger. An email address is your custom name, followed by an @ and your serivice provider, such as AOL, MSN, Yahoo etc. These can actully mean the same thing, but "screen name" usually means instant messenger.

Your screen name is an alias.

Your email address is the desired path for people to contact you and exchange text messages and programs, pictures, etc.

Most services use the provided "screen name" as the email address also... i.e "screenname@aol.com" Something of that nature

example: my "screen name" is "tiffany c"

but my email is ********@hotmail.com

You dont always have to have an email to get a screen name. Tell her to just get an email address they are free and it only takes a minute.

your email address is where your email goes, and your can change your screen name, which is still assciated to your email address. Instead of being called janedoe@yahoo.com you can change your screen name to Jane. I hope this helps.
