I like soccer/futbol. This is the first year that I've really caught World Cup fever though. I'm going to try to record the interesting ones... which to me, is about half of them. How much time should I allow the VCRs timer to go for? I ask because on my budget, I have only so many tapes. Yet, I really want to catch the pre-game festivities too. I don' care about the post game.

If it matters, I am taping from the US.

So how much time in an average world cup game?

How much in a much-longer-than-average world cup game?

Thanks

I would say: worst escenario:
90 minutes play+15 minutes normal interruption + 15 minutes beteween times+ 30 minutes overtime+15 minutes penalty, thats 165 minutes = 2 hours - 45 minutes.
SO you could say 3 hours.

dude the tapes does not cost that much you can get like 5 for a few bucks. go check out the dollar shops around you or take tapes from your family or friends without telling them and record over the existing stuff.

You should at least 2 and 1/2 hours because each day the games that are held will have 3 hour separation. game starting times are 9 am, 12 noon, and 3 pm. It takes 90 min to finish one game unless if you don't go to over time.

yea..just to be safe 3 hours

I'm in the same dilema. I want to use the best quality to record the games. Usually, games start on time I would record for 2 hrs and 20. I think tomorrow's game kicks-off at noon time est. The opening ceremony is at 11:00Am est.

Enjoy and welcome to the crazy fan club of the World Cup!
