Just remember before you can love anyone else, you've got to first... LOVE YOURSELF! So of course masturbation is not a bad thing... it's natural and is something that is part of who we are as people. Unless you're into sadism or massochism and like to punish or deny yourself pleasure masturbation is healthy!

Masturbating is only a bad thing when it takes away from other parts of your life. If you spend so much time masturbating that you don't have time to take care of other things, then it is a bad thing. If that happens, you just need to cut back a bit.

Morally, something is not bad as long as it does not cause injury to others. Under that definition masterbation is not bad. Now, if you are asking about religious based morality, that is entirely different, consult your priest.
