Do the follow:

My personal advise that you must chose same operating system in all 4 system like win xp.

1. Intall Network Card (NIC, LAN Card) in your computer & configure it.

2. After then setup cat 5 or cat 5e cable with proper climping and connect with your all 4 computer endivisualy to switch.

3. Then setup IP address in all computer like :

Computer 1 : IP 192.168.1.1, subnet: 255.255.255.0
Computer 2 : IP 192.168.1.2, subnet: 255.255.255.0
Computer 3 : IP 192.168.1.3, subnet: 255.255.255.0
Computer 4 : IP 192.168.1.4, subnet: 255.255.255.0

After this pinging your computer for checking that all computer work with together. for this use ping command. sit back on computer 1 and ping all computer IP address like bellow:

ping 192.168.1.1
ping 192.168.1.2
ping 192.168.1.3
ping 192.168.1.4

If sucessfully pinged then all 4 computer works together and your computer connected.

If not ping then first check your cable & switch physical connectivity and after then repit above process.

best of luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!
