small clots are okay, remember a period is sloughing off of lining within your uterus which makes little wounds. My iron is always in the normal and I always have a few little clots, mainly in the morning because while I'm sleeping blood pools and is allowed to clot, then when I get up I have to deal with it... gravity, it's a wonderful thing!

Has this problem just started or have you been having this every time your period comes around? If the pieces are dark red in color and look or feels like a slimy mess, these are blood clots. For many women this is normal. But if the pieces are rather large the size of your palm of your hand, then you need to see your gynecologist about them. When you have your period do you run a slight tempeture? sick to your stomach? or have real bad cramps? If you answered yes to any of these questions you need to see your doctor ASAP. Only your doctor can determine what is wrong with you for sure. Good luck and I hope that everything works ok for you!

That's normal. It's not all blood - it's the lining of the uterus and yes, sometimes it will be clotted like that. I don't think it has to do with iron intake, it's something I've experienced every period of my life as well as my friends. You may consider taking an iron supplement or a vitamin that is formulated for women just to be sure you're getting enough iron.

Not to worry, your iron is probably OK if you aren't tired all of the time. It is just part of the normal period that you have when you are clotting along with your period.

However if you the clots get really big and the periods get heavier check with your gyno for fibroids...there are other symptoms but those are two

I don´t think so...but it doesn´t always have to be liquid, its the lining of your uterus that's being purged and that logically speaking, isn´t a fluid.
