reality, history, science, religion, law -- it all operates on the level of human, anthropomorphic storytelling.

Reality is non-fiction or "not fiction". Biographies are classified as non-fiction because they are about reality or real life people. Book like The Di Vinci Code are fiction because, while they may use real life stuff in them for realism, they are imagined stories.
