Yes, I always have been. Unfortunately, some people don't care and would rather argue, possibly hoping to get some charges knocked off their bill or something stupid like that. Don't let them get to ya so much, though. It could be that they are having a bad day, hence the reason for calling for support in the first place. Just remind them that you didn't cause the problem, as I'm sure you already do. Take care.

umm does any customer service call center realize that the first rule of customer service is to not make the customer jump through hoops by pressing 11 buttons on the touch tone phone just to talk to a live person?

my view is that you should quit because it is an immoral job

Yes, I worked in customer service several years and now Im with Bank OF America. If someone is screaming and cursing at me I have no desire to help them if they can't talk to me in a civilized manner. But if you are nice and courteous I actually have the need to help you as much as I possibly can.

I don't think that some people realize that. I think they think if they are really mean that will make you want to help them more. For me it just pisses me off and makes me want to put them on hold and take longer on their problem.

you're speakin my language, hon. i am ALWAYS nice to them. as annoyed as you might be by them, the poor people have already dealt with an overwhelming amount of rude callers today. they shouldn't have to deal with another one.
