If Catholics have been taught a certain thing all their lives, its the only truth they know, therefore they are not spreading lies as to the best of their knowledge.

Anyone who was not alive more than 2000 years ago knows nothing about the actual events that led to the modern day Christian belief system so why don't you all accept the fact that you are participating in the longest running game of "Chinese Whispers" in the history of the world and just learn to get along?

Fact: Differences of opinion regarding belief systems (AKA Religion) have killed more innocent men, women and children than all disputes regarding oil, money, land or other tokens of wealth combined.
