LOL...i'm hoping you're kidding. very virtually as humorous...are various the solutions so a good distance. in the beginning Helium is an inert gas. that is impossible for it to bond with something. that is non poisonous. Secondly you may no longer de-oxygenate your blood reason the crimson blood cells won't bind the Helium to the iron which holds the oxygen. Carbon monoxide on the different hand will. It attaches top the place the oxygen does. final yet no longer least...that is obviously a possibility so you might die in case you basically breath organic Helium long adequate by way of Oxygen deprivation. particular that is exciting to do for a minute or 2, yet while your carried out speaking humorous, go out area and get some severe high quality clean air. Any Oxygen deprivation reasons some recommendations cellular dying so save that throughout the time of recommendations on a similar time as you nevertheless have one.

Inhaling Helium From A Ballon
A little-known aspect of inhaling helium is how quickly you may lose consciousness due to asphyxia (oxygen deprivation). During the exchange of gases in the normal breathing process, the blood stream absorbs oxygen from air in the lungs, while carbon dioxide passes from the blood to the air. When you hold your breath, the exchange of gases slows, as "stale" air in the lungs is no longer replaced by "fresh" air.
Commercial Balloon-Filling Systems
Helium balloon-filling systems have become popular in recent years, and are frequently found in supermarkets, party supply stores, and variety stores. The "commercial" type system is generally operated by a store employee rather than by a customer. Sometimes the system is loaned or leased to the customer—a practice that led to the fatality mentioned earlier. A typical commercial system consists of a helium cylinder, shut-off valve, pressure flow regulator, and tilt valve with balloon adapter.
Inhaling Helium From a Commercial System
Attempting to inhale helium from a commercial helium balloon filling system poses a greater hazard than does inhaling helium from a balloon. Beyond the risk of passing out, the potential for fatal injury is present. Unfortunately, several young people have been killed while inhaling helium from such a system.
How can a healthy young person be killed by a seemingly harmless substance, you ask? Postmortem examinations of victims explain what occurs, while engineering analysis explains how.
Chemical reaction does not cause fatal injuries. Rather, the pressure of gas inside the lungs is the agent that can kill instantly. Autopsies show that the alveoli (air sacs) in the lungs have been ruptured. Death follows immediately, as the victims literally drown in their own blood. Under such circumstances, cardiopulmonary resuscitation is of no avail.

5 to 15 minutes. Your death comes from lack of oxygen. It'll really be the same amount of time breathing any non-reactive gas - helium, nitrogen, CO2, Argon, etc.
Death comes faster in a non-oxygen environment than if asphixiation were the result of smothering or clamping the mouth and nose shut. This is because the victim is able to exhale oxygen into the environment that would otherwise have been available for a few more minutes of life.

Same as suffocation. A couple of minutes at the most. It's worse than holding your breath 'cause you don't realize you're not getting any oxygen. You think you're breathing something....
There's a saying that you can survive three minutes without air, three days without water, and three weeks without food.

How long does it take to asphyxiate from lack of oxygen? The answer is the same.
Certainly longer than 2 minutes -- more typically, brain death from asphyxiation takes ~ 15 minutes.
