I applied at UPS partime over the internet and I have had two interviews they said they will call, now I check my online application and it is asking for taxing info, If I want direct deposit, emergency contact info, safety agreement, and drug and alchol screening info. By the way this will be my first job, I am 17. So what does everyone think this means, I do know know a number that I can call them. I am thinking after the hiring process is over they will call everyone at the same time and then train together. Thanks for your help.

The problem is that they do not have a phone number listed for employment that is not automated just asking for you to apply. Would it be appropriate to go in person and ask or should I just wait and try applying for other jobs unless I hear from them?

I used to work for a staffing agency. We would have people fill out W-4's, go get a UA, etc. The only thing that indicates that you are hired is the completion of the I-9. They could ask you what you want for lunch on tuesday, it does not mean you have the job until they ask you for ID compliant with the I-9.

I hope you get the job! It is kind of unusual for them to go this far without the intention of making an offer.

Well, the first thing is this: Are your parents still claiming you on their tax returns or are you emacipated? If you are emancipated, it is protocal these days for organizations to do a screeening. Especially larger companies hammered by lawsuits. The tax form is a W-4. You have to fill it out to get paid. Now, if you are still a student OR are claimed by your parents, the answer is EXEMPTION. I can't get this THRU my 17 year old step-daughter's addled mind. That's drugs, right there. Paying Unc Sam for nothing. Well, turn that in, take a drug test, fill out the bank deposit information and whether you want a direct deposit or not. If you have a bank account, you might. But paper is good, too. For a "how to" talk with UPS H/R. The form will require your information including a bank transit number and account number, IF YOU WANT direct deposit. Sounds to me as if you are being considered for the position.

It sounds like they are hiring you. That is the only reason they'd need tax and dir.deposit info.I am surprised you haven't heard from them directly though.I think you should call them, and tell them you are following through on the interview. If they seem receptive, ask if they have made any decisions on the position yet.Good luck, I hope you got it.
