Why don't you buy the chicks instead? There are various farms that raise the chicks then they send them too you through the mail. That's how we get our chicks. They will be easier to care for. But any farm with a rooster will have fertilized eggs. But I think you should just buy the chicks. Magic City Hatchery is where we get ours but I'm sure there is one closer to you. A hatchery might even sell you the eggs if you want and tell you how to hatch them. Check with a local farm and ranch store for the names in your area.

Ok i just got out of a class that was doin this and the best way to go about it is to find another teacher or a student that is willing to let the teacher have some fertilized eggs and that way when the teacher is done growing the baby chickens she can give them back to the student/teacher or maybe they will let her keep them i donated to my teacher and another teacher took them home it was FREE and totally humane because they were rescued by another teacher

The Murray McMurray hatchery can send you fertilized chicken eggs that you can incubate. They carry about every breed of chicken. If you are wanting to show your chickens though, I don't recommend them very highly. For show chickens, I recommend contacting the Poultry Press at www.poultrypress.com. They can provide a list of breeders that can send you eggs, along with what breeds they raise.

you have to get them from a local farm that has a rooster. You also have to keep them warm at all times. Before you dash over to get the eggs, be sure you have an incubator
