Hi, I have recently become a softball umpire. I am the only female umpire that I know. There must be more of you women out there. My style tends to be mellow but direct. I only care about the kids doing well and playing well. Some of these coaches though - they are scary. If I was a kid (12 and younger) I'd never want to play a sport. Some of these coaches don't even care if the kids are hurt or not. The older kids who play more competitively, I don't even want to ump those games.

Thank God, no. Their hair would get in the way. The men umpires already do a bad job, why make it worse?

No female umpires in the farm league as well.

There are no female umps in MLB.

Mabye in smaller leagues but I don't think so in the MLB.
