the key to getting a CS job here in the US is to show some skills beyond coding. if you have communication/relationship skills, you can become a tech writer, consultant or project manager. if you have biology or chemistry background, you can go into biotech. if you have knowledge/experience in a particular industry such as financial services, you can get a job in that area. there are jobs out there but you have to be smart about showing that you can do something that the person in india, china or eastern europe can not. that is why i am the only one in my group that was born here. work smarter not harder. good luck.

Zilch. All the CS jobs are in India.

There are a lot of fake want ads in the paper, but these are only put there to make congress think that there is a IT worker shortage. This is the farthest thing from the truth, but congress is not in touch with reality, but they are in touch with a lot of big companies that make big donations to their 'campaigns'. Same companies that are looking for cheap foreign labor.

Note that the IT ads always have someting like "must have 2-5 years experience." This means that they will not consider someone with 1.5 years experience or someone with 6 years experience. The IT field is the only field I know of that does that.

You should get a different career and hopefully the new one won't be a scam like the CS degrees are. Right now, an MCS degree and $5 aren't valuable enough to buy a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

Sorry to say it friend, but n4mwd is right. Though I do not have a Masters, I do have my Bach.'s and It's so hard to get a job. I'm going on 2 years since I graduated. It's just sad. I hope you have better luck than I had.

Good Luck.
