The Bustle in a House
The Morning after Death
Is solemnest of industries
Enacted upon Earth--

The Sweeping up the Heart
And putting Love away
We shall not want to use again
Until Eternity

It seems very straight forward. Packing away the things of someone who has died and rearranging the spaces that will never again be a habitat for a particular person is a solemn industry. Love is put away because its object is gone, not to be used again until meeting the loved one in whatever afterlife the poet envisions.

I think it's beautiful.

To me it means that the most dismal of life's chores is the death of a loved one and not wanting to love again.

I think, in a spiritual way, the eternity part of the poem may leave open the opportunity to love the deceased again when you meet again.

Who wrote it?

Yes, it's the morning after the death of a loved one, people getting ready for the dreadfulness of the day and whats to come. The love will be waiting for us in heaven and to keep it deep in our hearts, storing it there until we ourselves are called home to our LORD.

it sounds like a married person has died and describes the saddness their spouse feels, and how sad it is getting ready to say goodbye. I think that it describes how when a life partner dies, we often close up that part of our heart to anyone else....and then when we die...we see our spouse again in heaven.
