Our symbols are everywhere, and we make no attempt to hide them. The Illuminati, however, have nothing to do with us. They don't even exist anymore. Their organization barely lasted a decade, and they disbanded. They are nothing like the Freemasons, a fraternity that publicly admits membership, and who does charitable work to help others.

Have you ever bought a new car and then started noticing all the people who drive that very same kind of car? It is about setting filters of your perception. It starts to feel like a conspiracy or a webwork of design. You have a Prius and suddenly the whole world is driving a Prius.

Regarding the symbols you see. I would venture to guess what you see are the two that we Freemasons use to symbolize our Craft: the Square and the Compasses (notice it is not "compass" but "compasses" - different). Nothing hidden there. Often you will also in the US see a G in the center.

If you go out to a graveyard, you will probably see headstones with the same markings. Nothing sinister there either. Just means that Freemasons are buried there.

Regarding the Illuminati, you may google around and find some information on Adam Weisthaupt and the Bavarian Illuminati. No, I do not think he really was George Washington. Sorry. The little group started well but ended, as groups often do, badly. They did use some Masonic Lodges by infiltrating them but were quickly thrown out of Bavaria and the Lodges did their best to rid themselves of their influence.

Despite Abbe Barruel and Nesta Webster's inflamatory works, Freemasons are urged to be patriotic citizens. Anarchists and atheists are not welcome.

Of course one can believe what one wishes of Freemasons. But look at who have been Freemasons and what we have accomplished. That has never been a secret.

I am a Master Co-Mason in two Blue Lodges and one historical Lodge. Feel free to write if I can be of help.

Well, considering that many masonic symbols just so happen to be fairly common shapes, I am not surprised at all you are seeing them. Especially if you got masons on the brain.
Put down the DaVinci Code/Holy Blood/Holy Grail or whatever and find a masonic temple and just ASK THEM. They may lie, but they will do so a lot more convincingly than the tripe you seem to be reading.
And about the Illuminati - they are either not in existence, or are composed of so many groups with eyes everywhere that you have just drawn their attention by trying to expose them, threatening their shroud of secrecy and dormitory of albino Men In Black. I'd suggest running, but they probably know better than you do where you would probably run to.
You credit rating is likely circling the drain as we speak. It isn't? How about that...guess there aren't Illuminati, after all...

Joseph Smith borrowed from many sources to cludge his new religion together. By studying what was going on in his area you can predict what he was going to do. There was a huge anti Catholic sentiment in the mid 1820s, and he included many passages in the beginning of the Book of Mormon describing them as the 'abominable whore' - language borrowed straight from a local newspaper. There were groups like Oneida and Cochranites in New York then that practiced spiritual wifery and communism - hence polygamy and the United Order. The list is long. Smith was a smart man who experimented with other people's concepts regularly.

Yes, I see them a lot. I also see them in Classical architecture. e.g. front of New York Stock Exchange Building, Brandenburg Gate in Berlin and Edinburgh Gate; have you noticed that they all look alike? Many other famous buildings have the same fronts and similar architecture.

You may like to visit the following web site, where you might recognize more symbols, logos and insignia:

On the American dollar bill it is hard to miss them.

The play 'Arcadia' by Tom Stoppard deals with the topic of Classical architecture vs. Romanticism in style, incorporating a lot of ideas central to Freemasonry.

Yeah, I see them too but that's the whole point: those who know KNOW and those who don't, don't. Don't let it get you down. Just keep your eyes open and make your personal choices accordingly and don't let those who have no clue tell you you're crazy. A town full of blind people told the one eyed man he was crazy for trying to describe a sunset. They said, "no such thing exists!" See what I'm saying?

To the untrained eye, of course you wouldn't see them. But to others that know about it, sure.
