Cervical mucus
According to ACOG, another way to detect impending ovulation is to monitor your vaginal secretions or cervical mucus by checking regularly for mucus at the opening of the vagina. In general, your vagina produces the least amount of secretions immediately following the conclusion of your menstrual cycle. The amount and consistency of vaginal secretions follow this pattern for most women:
Soon after your menstrual cycle, you might notice a sticky or "tacky" vaginal secretion.
Immediately prior to ovulation, most women usually detect increased vaginal secretions that are wet and slippery (similar to the consistency of raw egg white). Generally, your body produces the greatest amount of this type of vaginal discharge is on the day of ovulation.
Immediately following the day of ovulation, your vaginal discharge gradually becomes thicker in consistency, and less is secreted.

The *last* day of the most wet type of cervical fluid is the day before ovulation (in other words, the last fertile day for sex). Depending on what you mean by slippery it may *also* be stretchy. If so, then you probably ovulated on Monday. Otherwise, you probably ovulated on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. (Did you check on the in-between days?)
You need to check cervical fluid *every* day to know. And, to know if you actually did ovulate, it really helps to check BBT. Sometimes, your body prepares for ovulation, then "changes its mind" and ovulates a few days later. In this case, you'll have wet fluid, then dry, then wet again; the *last* wet day is the day before ovulation.
I hope this helps. Please read _Taking Charge of Your Fertility_ by Toni Weschler for more details. I have been doing this for *many* years--both to avoid pregnancy and get pregnant, but I am still learning new things when I reread it!!

Usually your CM will be white or clear and slippery, that indicates you are most fertile. Here is how it usually works if you have a 28 day cycle we will say days1-5 you have your period then up to the 9th day there should be really no mucus. Then the next about 2-3 days it will be thick and sticky. By the about 13 -15th day (about 14 days before your next period) it will be creamier and slippery, maybe even clear....now you are ovulating and are most fertile. Then back to sticky and thick from about the 16-21st day, about 2 days before your period when it will be dry again. Hope this helped!

Fertility Awareness is one way to track when ovulation occurs, and it includes studying the changes in cervical mucus and using a basal thermometer. Cervical fluid will change to a wet, slippery substance that resembles "egg whites" just before ovulation occurs and until ovulation is over. A basal thermometer helps track a body temperature rise, which signals that ovulation has just occurred.

Go online to ovulation calculator, just type that in the address bar and a bunch of different sites will pop up., go through them and answer the questions of when you had your period and they will give you an approximate week when you are most fertile. Some are more thorough then others, so make sure to play around and check all of them out, but this is a very good way to try to conceive if there is nothing medically wrong.

You have to know how long your cycles are and write them down for about 6 months. Then you can average out when you ovulate. Try to have sex before you ovulate and during. That way you increase your chances of becoming preg. Also, you could buy an ovulation kit. Those really work and you can even tell exactly which day you ovulate.

Ovulation is usually the last day you noticed stretchy cervical mucus.
Good luck!

The best answer to the question would be to go see the your GYN and get a pap and a proper exam.
