depends on the rapper and what they are rappin about. if they have good beats and original lyrics, i don't hate on them. Snoop, Dre, Eminem, 50 cent, tu-pac and biggie are my all time faves. I am very diverse with my music and can be critical on who sucks. some of these rappers out there who rap about crap, it amazes me that they even got a record deal. I mean, who really sings about rubber bands? is that all they could come up with?!?!? alot of people can't stand rap because of the ebonics not even the originator of ebonics can understand some of their words.

but rap sucks, It's sexist, pornographic, materialistic even racist
the topics are generally money, hoes/bitches/baby, murder, "homies"..
i.e: friends that will shoot you in the back, if you mess wit their hoe/*****/baby.
