Ipods have internal batteries. That means, when the battery dies, you have to charge it and it can't be used. Also, Ipods are known to break down, they have a high return rate. On top of that, you can only play music that you own on an IPOD.
An mp3 plays all music, stolen or not!! Also, you can get an mp3 that runs on AA or AAA batteries. This way, when it dies, you can just pop in new ones and you're good to go.
Ipods are junk. Chick near me has one and during the day she puts it down and doesn't use it any more. Know why? Freakin battery died on her!!! You don't want an IPOD.

People are so oblivious now adays. Ipod and Apple have done so much advertising that people think everything is an Ipod. "Is that an Ipod. Wow I want that Ipod. I want an Ipod like yours." Mp3 means MPEG-1 Audio Layer-3. This is an audio format. An mp3 player can play mp3 files and other audio formats digitally. They store music on flash memory or small hard drives. An Ipod IS an mp3 player. Ipod is the brand name produced by the Apple Corporation. An mp3 player is a general term. I don't recommended Ipods becuase they are more expensive with less features. Apple Ipod=Mp3 player

I'D LIKE TO SAY:
An Ipod is an Mp3 player. It plays Mp3's so it is classified as an MP3 player. Also, I like Ipod's the most because they are extremely reliable. I have read reviews about other MP3 players that look cooler but freeze and break easily.
Hope I helped!

An Ipod is technically an MP3 player- just a very good and expensive one that plays videos, stores photos etc. Well that is if you get the big ones.
You can get a smaller ipod that is 1GB and a reasonable price. It will hold aprox 1000 minutes of song.
APPLE is obviously a good brand name and there fore they tend to be more epensive than some other makes.

iPods ARE mp3s, they are just a brand. And iPods are NOT more durable. Someone I know accidently broke it's iPod nano in half! Scraches are also the worst in every iPod model. iPods are cool and they are very good but they are NOT the BEST. I've seen some great other mp3 brands that are very good and that have some other built-in functions that an iPod doesn't have like radio, voice recorder, etc. Don't get me wrong, iPods are great... it's your choice...

Go with a Creative. Anything by Creative Labs is going to have twice the memmory and cost 1/3 that of an iPod. Creative is in the digital music business, thus they know what they're doing. I personally reccommend the Creative Zen. Order off Amazon or some other site (b/c the Creative store is way over-priced).

IPOD by far it will have more gadgets to attach and holds more songs than most MP3 players. Plus there is always the movies and tv shows that you can download to watch.
