i worked at claire's for 4 years and im going to tell you honestly ok ..........it has a little pinch and then a sting then its over the girls/ guys at claires are trained really thoughly for all types of ears and situations i was twelve when i got mine done for the first time at a claires store and i cryied but then laughed because i made a really big deal about it and it wasnt half as bad as i though i now have three in my ears and one in each cartlige! and a belly ring so now i ask you a question do you really thing i would go and do more peircings if the first one hurt? its just like anything else in life you get through it and learn from it ok kido so do it youll love it!! all the cute ones you can wear when you get done with the first 6 weeks and all the cleaning and twisting! its AWESOME!!! please use 14k earring they cost a little more but there is less chance of allergic reation that will end up cause you more discomfort than the piercing !!!!!! good luck

When i was 11 i got my ears peirced and the gun was not working right so the earing only went in half way...they did not take the earning out they just pushed it the rest of the way in...it hurt but not bad at all...breaking a nail hurts worst so dont worry about it...just make sure that you clean your earning everyday!!!!

Yup, it's gonna hurt. The initial piercing does only hurt for a second, then it will more than likely swell up, causing the earring to pinch, which hurts until that goes down. Then everytime you clean it for the first week it will hurt, and you can only sleep on your back unless you want to hurt it all over again. I also get the burning in mine which also sucks. Makes them itch and I usually wind up taking them out.
I guess it really depends on your tolerance for pain. It's uncomfortable (for me) for the first week or two, but I have enough peircings to show it's well worth it for me.

Nothing to be nervous about. It hurts for a micro second. You might have a little irritation for a few days after but nothing to be concerned about, unless it gets infected. To avoid infection, make sure you use the cleaning solution they provide and rotate the earrings a few times a day. Now if you were getting your cartilage done. THAT HURTS!!! and days and days and days afterwards the pain still remains. But seeing its just your lobes, you'll be fine.

I had my ears pierced as a baby, they closed up and I got them again when I was sixteen. It felt like a pinch on your lobe. But, the gun did get caught on my left lobe. That's the one that was sore the longest. But, it's nothing, it's a pain you can easily forget. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm 23 and haven't had my ears pierced yet. You said you're nervous. Don't do it if you don't want to! If you do decide to do it, keep it clean because infections hurt more than the piercing I've heard!

It will only hurt for a second. Take some Tylenol after if you are concerned with pain.

It doesn't hurt. You will just fill a small prick. My daughter was 3 months old when she got her ears pierced and she didn't cry she just jumped.
