I had contractions on and off yesterday after my doctor stripped my membranes. It seemed like all night ( not intense ) , then I woke up this morning sore in my stomach and lower back. I read someone tell me to take a hot bath. Which I did and it seems like they are starting again. Does this make any sense? Its not to me?

Anything thats going to help your body move and position your baby for delivery will encourage labor. Like taking a warm bath, it allows the baby to drop down more and trigger more contractions.

Walking, squatting, sitting.... moving about as much as you can is good. Keep it up if you can, it will help move things along for you. just dont over due it or you'll be exhausted by delivery time!

Its not uncommon for a woman to have inrregular contracts for even a couple days before true labor begins. Make sure youre keeping your doctor in the loop, if things should take too long to progress it can cause harmful stress for the baby. I assume your doctor has instructed you on what to do and expect, if not then call him/her and ask whatever you want to know. A calm mother is a calm delivery is a calm baby, they'll want to answer any concerns you have!

Go to the hospital! I had my membranes stripped and a few hours later I had cramps and spotting. I went to the hospital, and had to have an emergency C-Section because something went wrong! I'm not saying this to scare you, I'm only saying it because anything can happen.

I would call your doctor ASAP and let him know what's going on and ask him what you should do. Pregnancy isn't anything to play with. if you are having pains and all that i would call just to make sure it's normal.

Maybe it's just Brackston (sp?) Hicks contractions ~ you know the fake kind. I would call your doctor and ask.

If you're concerned call your doctor and question them. Otherwise they can be false labor, I had it throughout my whole pregnancy.
Good luck.
