I think that 5 to 7 days is a good amount of time to be in Disney. There is a ton to see, so if you want to see it all, I would go at least 7 to 10 days.

It can get really hot in Florida. The summer months, especially around July are the hottest. It is also the busiest time of year, so I try to avoid that time. I like going during the Winter months, Fall is also nice and so is Spring.

Extra tips: Don't over plan the vacation. Have a basic outline of what you want to do and then just let things happen as they will from there. Stay in a Disney hotel if at all possible. It is a lot nicer and more convenient than staying offsite, especially if you have kids. If you can go in late August or September, Disney is offering free dining if you stay onsite, so that can really help with the cost.

Pal Mickey is really cute. He will just give you little tips and things while going through the parks. A couple of things that I don't like about him, the batteries don't last the day at the park, so either bring extras or don't plan to use him the whole day. He can get dirty, especially taking him all around with you, and also if you have kids, so keep that in mind. And, when it is hot and busy and you have been in the parks all day, he can become a little annoying. But I like mine and I think he is worth the money.

I'd stay about a week. That's enough time to do the four Theme Parks, the two Water Parks, and Downtown Disney. If you're going to Walt Disney World and probably not doing much else, you don't want to miss out on something. It's almost not worth it if you can't do everything, especially if you're traveling there. It does get extremely hot, very humid, especially in the summer. I fly down from New Hampshire each August. It's so hot then, and I'm not used to the heat at all, but I absolutely love it. You're in such an awesome, magical place, there's no way you can be unhappy. There's plenty of places and ways to keep cool. I haven't purchased a Pal Mickey yet, but I definitely plan on spending the money to get one this summer when I return. I've read great reviews about it. It's very informative and entertaining. Other people say it's worth the money. I want it anyway, just because it's a special edition one for the Happiest Celebration on Earth, and Mickey has on a cute little tux. I want one just as a keepsake. I could give you hundreds of tips, but I'm not sure exactly what you need or want to know. Are you staying at a Disney Resort?

This site has a ton of information, everything you could need to plan a Disney vacation... http://www.allearsnet.com

Email me if you need any questions answered. I love to help, especially if it has to do with Disney!

HAVE FUN!

* "All Ears" clearly states on the website that Pal Mickey is NO LONGER available to rent. So many people were just buying it and not even renting, so they don't offer the option anymore.

Okay - yes it is very hot - and it is hot right now. I'm south of Orlando. It is an exhausting (but fun) trip and there are lots of things to do in Orlando so I would give it a good five days. You can't see everything in every park a day at a time. You'll need to make sure you have a lot of water with you at this time of year so you don't overheat. Yes, your pal, Mickey is definitely worth it!! And try not to have to carry too much stuff around the park with you (like women/purses - pick fannypack instead). Wear the most comfy shoes you have. Hope you have a fabulous time. I've been there a LOT over the years.

I usually visit for 5 full days and its still not enough time! There is soooo much to see at Disney! If you have the money I would reccomend staying a full week! Its not THAT hot in florida. Like I mean in Arizona it could be 110 degrees but I think florida at its hottest is in the 90s? I usually go in the spring so not so sure about summer heat. Disney Tips, Disney Tips, Disney Tips. Okay here we go:
1) get fastpasses so you don't have to wait in line
2)take pics with characters, I know it sounds cheesy but the pics turn out so cute
3)bring your own water bottles because everything, water food is expensive
4) Order bottled water because their regular tap water tastes really gross
5)Visit the 3 mountains in the magic kingdom (Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain)
6)If you go to a Disney waterpark go to Blizzard Beach! It is a blast! In my opinion its better than Typhoon Lagoon
7)Go to Downtown Disney and get a brownie from ghiradelli, after a fabulous dinner at the rainforest cafe
8)if available don't take a bus to a park, take a monorail or boat, its much more scenic and relaxing. Like from magic kingdom to epcot you can take the monorail. And from epcot to mgm you can take a nice little boat ride!
9)Go to rides during parades or fireworks shows, there's bound to be less of a crowd.
10)See Fantasmic! at MGM Studios. It is the best show i have ever seen in my life, but be sure to get there really early, like an hour early, for good seats.
no, pal mickey is definitely not worth that. Its a plush thing that is supposed to give you info on everything. You can pretty much find everything you need on a map and showguide of the park for free.
Have a magical trip!

spend a lot of time at Disney, I would recommend at least 7 days and if you can stay on property, they have some great deals right now.. Yes it gets very hot in Florida so do a park in am and go back to hotel in afternoon and then back to park at night... also very crowded in summer, and if you are a first time visitor, get the pal mickey- if not skip it all together there are enough disney people around to help

One park per day. Get the Birnbaums Guide to Disney World from local bookstore and read it. You'll enjoy the trip much more. Pal Mickey is not worth the money. Tips: Stay for Wishes Fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom, make your dining reservations as soon as possible, if you stay on Disney property u can use the bus system and take advantage of "extra magic hours", It is warm there, take plenty of sunscreen. Enjoy!

Hi there! I offer a service that helps people plan their Disney Vacation. I charge a small flat fee, ranging anywhere from $45-$65 and offer advice, tips, and really customize the trip for whomever is going based on their ages, likes and dislikes. I don't book flights or hotels, but simply make the trip the best it can be for the travelers. I send park maps, a vacation video, and other tips that only cast members know (I used to be one!). If you'd like me to help you plan your vacation, please contact me! bbhill121@yahoo.com

In the meantime, if you've visited Disneyland in CA before, then you can really skip the Magic Kingdom and take 3 days to see the other parks. If you haven't been to Disneyland, then you'll want to go to the Magic Kingdom and plan for 4 days. The heat is not the killer... its the humidity. Dress comfortably... good shoes and fabric that BREATHES.... cotton is rotten as they say when it gets wet, so any fabric that is like a pair of board shorts are perfect. Buy some of Neutrogena's cooling mist sunscreen. It cools your skin while it protects. You are closer to the equator, so burning, if you're light skinned, is porbable.

I've never seen a Pal Mickey but I've read about them. I think its a wonderful idea for a kid! I say, sure--sounds like fun! :)

Please let me know if I can help plan your vacation!!!

I went about 4 years ago and stayed for 6 days. I only went to 3 of the parks and downtown disney. It's really hard to see everything, but they have tickets where you can skip around to each park. You get on the train thing and it will take you all around. It gets extremely hot in Florida. I only live in the panhandle and its been in the 90's lately! Bring comfy shoes and if you can bring your own bottle of water and refill at the fountain. Food, Beverages, and souveniers are really expensive in the parks. It really is a lot of fun. Its like a whole other world. Hope you have a great time :)

Go for 7 days to see the 4 parks in peak season and still have time for Downtown Disney and a water park and yes it is hot, buy the mister, a fan attached to a spray bottle, it is WELL worth it. All the stores have AC though, so walk through them when possible to cool down.
Stay on property for a free shuttle to the parks.
Pack one suitcase just with bottled water on the way down, it will save you some money (bottles are $2.50) adn you will have an empty suitcase for souveniers.
Get a Hopper pass so you can travel between parks on the same day.
