Oh My Dear Aunt Lizzie! I have got to tell you we need to shelve this thing with this damn woodchuck! The woodchuck is extinct, we killed all the chucking chuckers! The official government notification was sent out to all of the world last week!
Did you not get an e-mail about this? The rest of the whole entire world knows that there are no more woodchucks except you?
We will give this subject the proper investigation it is due when we all get together and elect the committee to investigate what happened to Frosty the Snowman! Death by natural causes due to global warming or could it be something else, perhaps homeland security had a hand in this disappearance. there have been reports of trace DNA found in the drinking water of the North Pole.
Yes indeed let us let the poor woodchucks rest in chucking peace for now. We have more important matters to discuss at this time. Such as how many peppers did perter really pick? A government cover up, perhaps the CIA and the FBI and the 4H, and the Girl Scouts, and the Boys Wonders are involved in some global plan to bring down all the pepper pickers putting pickled peppers partway past people's pathways.
This subject is closed until such time as new information can be gathered!

I think people who ask the question, and ones similar to it (which have no real answer) for one or more of three reasons, either they ask to be silly or make a joke of it, they are looking to see how someone would answer the question as a test to see how a person would answer it, or they are actually asking someone what their estimate would be of the amount or distance of wood or lumber a Marmota monax (woodchuck) could throw if they actually had the capacity to do so.

Because some people are worried about the woodchuck's health
and whether he should continue chucking wood.
