they are all illusions, certainly, and the technical aspects of each depend on the individual illusion.
Often there are paid confederates for large stunts.

Yes, saw the one where he swallowed the quarter & cut it out, but had you not been watching the quarter come down and looking at the 'skin' where the quarter wasn't, you would have noticed that the 'skin' was fake. The color wasn't right and you could tell that it wasn't skin at all. The blood was cornstarch or whatever they use these days. Magicians count on the fact that you'll be looking where they want you to look (at the quarter) instead of at the props (fake skin over his arm). It's called misdirection.

The people are all plants. Meaning, they are all in on it, and paid to look surprised when he walks across a pool while hanging from a wire.

Did anybody see it when he swallowed the quarter and it came down his arm and he cut it out. now how can that be an illusion?

I think they are fake but its still a great show though. not to mention that his a hottie.
